Staff
Newt
Emotional Support Artist
Newt is a former barn and momma cat that came to us with a prolapsed rectum in the summer of 2022. She is the sweetest, most loving kitty. For us, it was love at first sight. Due to her medical issues, she needed to be an indoor cat, so we asked if we could keep her!
She quickly adjusted to the indoor life and loves napping in our cat window, playing with Mr. Tumnus, and cuddling with the rest of the staff.
Mr. Tumnus
Customer Service Representative Manager
Tummy was found by Beth on the side of the road during a rainstorm in October of 2020. All she had to do was open her car door and he came running to jump right in!
He is Sam's supervisor, and a true gentleman. He LOVES other cats and tries to run to their rescue if they are distressed. Has a special affinity for kittens, and is a fantastic foster grandpa. He is very brave and generally not perterbed by dogs. Loves a good nose boop, hates to be picked up. Insists on trying to taste everything edible but gets denied due to his medical condition (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). WILL judge you with those never blinking eyes.
Olivia, (Pronouns: She/Her)
Practice Manager & Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Olivia (aka Liv) has loved all animals and creatures since she was old enough to sit in the dirt "rescuing" worms, toads, and frogs by bringing them home in her diaper.
She has a bachelor's of science in zoology and never wanted to work in the vet field. However, after taking a position in her first clinic in 2009, she realized that it was possible to provide the pets with a positive rather than terrifying visit, and has been dedicated to that mission ever since. She is especially fond of pitbulls and advocates against breed specific legislation.
She officially earned her registration as a veterinary technician in 2018, and became a Fear Free Certified Professional in 2021.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and camping, traveling, reading, napping, and snuggling with her pets.
Sam, (Pronouns: She/Her)
Customer Service Representative (CSR)
Sam went to school for fashion merchandising but never felt like that was a good fit. After working in merchandising for a year, she took a job at her first vet clinic in 2017, and hasn’t looked back since. While Sam has never met a dog or cat she doesn’t like, she is especially fond of giant breeds. She adopted her Great Dane, Bingo, also in 2017, and they love to take naps and share Door Dash meals together. In her spare time, Sam loves to workout, collect way too many pairs of shoes, and take Bingo on any car ride possible.
Kait, (Pronouns: She/Her)
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Kait is a newly registered veterinary technician as of July 2022. She landed in the veterinary world by mistake, in 2018, and it forever changed her life. She has always had a special connection and passion for animals but the fear of coming close to more than her own animals, and having to say goodbye, always kept her at a distance. Since pursuing her career as a technician, she has come to enjoy helping families through all the happy, and especially the difficult, times we all experience.
Her Associate of Science degree from Kent State University in Veterinary Technology taught her the essential skills that she particularly enjoys; including venipuncture, surgical preparation and monitoring, and dental radiography.
Kait shares her home with 3 reptile companions and her 3 feline children: Noel, Rorschach and Squid. She enjoys all things ghoulish and spooky. When not at work you'll find her napping, shopping or piecing together a jigsaw puzzle.
Debby, (Pronouns: She/Her)
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Debby has been working in veterinary medicine for 30+ years and has been a registered veterinary technician since 2013. She is a Fear Free Certified Professional because she believes in the comfort and happiness of pets and their people. Debby is the very proud mom to one great son and is now an “empty nester”, which just leaves more time for her pets! She has always loved German Shepherd Dogs (preferably Long Coated), and is currently the proud owner of two beautiful dogs. Debby enjoys doing things with her dogs such as walks with other dog friends and running AKC Fast Cat events with them, earning titles along the way. She also loves cats and shares her home with three fabulous felines, and in her spare time, she has been slowly making new improvements to her 100 year old home.
Kay, (Pronouns: They/Them)
Veterinary Assistant
Kay started in the pet industry as a groomer, which they did for 7 years before transitioning into veterinary care in 2021. Since then, they have been enjoying working as a veterinary assistant. When not working, they enjoy time with their cats: Froggy, Fae, & Weasel. They also regularly play D&D with their friends from all over the world. If you’re lucky, you might see Froggy trolling around the clinic once and a while!
Beth, (Pronouns: She/Her)
Veterinary Assistant
Beth has worked in the veterinary field since 2001, and couldn't imagine doing anything else. She loves all animals, and has enjoyed working with dogs, cats, horses, and the occasional goat for years. She currently shares her home with two adorable dogs, three cats, a rabbit, a toad, a leopard gecko, and too many fish to count. She loves to share stories about her goofy pets, and always enjoys hearing about the at home lives of the amazing patients she gets to work with on a daily basis. To her, pets really are the best part of life.
